|Recently, the UPS Foundation awarded a $500 charitable contribution to Ryan’s Hope, helping advance research efforts of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD).
Encouraged and facilitated by Division Manager Bill Busch and Business Manager Jeff Hurd, UPS presented a check to the Ryan’s Hope Foundation, at the UPS Facility in Norwood. Proudly accepting the donation was UPS Service Provider Scott Hastings, Ryan’s dad and co-founder of Ryan’s Hope.
The Ryan’s Hope Foundation was founded in 2003 by UPSer Scott Hastings and his wife Linda of Plainville, MA, whose then two year old son, Ryan, was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a lethal genetic disorder. The Hastings Family established the foundation to raise funds, aiding research to find a cure for DMD.
The UPS Foundation is the charitable division of UPS which focuses on Hunger, Literacy and Volunteerism. The Foundation’s Charitable Contribution Program, an annual initiative that allows UPS employees to recommend organizations, such as Ryan’s Hope, for funding based on the needs they see in their communities and by making contributions and by contributing other resources, like volunteers, technical assistance and our expertise, the Foundation enables not-for-profit organizations to serve communities more effectively.
